About WebRaising at The Art Institue of Portland

Web Raising = student volunteers constructing Web sites for non-profits in one day

Participating non-profits receive a tangible marketing tool designed and produced free of charge. Students receive valuable experience putting their design and business skills to the test.

The event is a modern take on the traditional Amish barn raising, but instead of gathering neighbors together to build a barn in one day, students and faculty gathering their design and coding skills to build Web sites in the same time frame, and in the same spirit of community giving. The result is an exciting, fast-paced, somewhat unpredictable, and extremely rewarding event.

The Art Institute of Portland is committed to being an active community partner, and this is a unique opportunity for students and faculty to give back to the community.
